Therapeutic Focus

Individual adults, teenagers, and groups. Katherine works with people struggling with depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, relationship issues, self-esteem challenges, trauma, and substance use.

Katherine is well versed in Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Nonviolent Communication, Mindful Self-Compassion, and Trauma-Informed Care. Approved Clinical Supervisor for professionals working towards their LICSW.

Therapeutic Philosophy

Katherine believes that seeking therapy is a significant step toward healing and growth. She cultivates a therapeutic relationship where the client is respected and heard. Katherine sees therapy as a partnership in which she will help individuals refine and discover ways to heal and support themselves. From this foundation, there can be positive impacts in other areas of life. With core values of compassion, transparency, creativity, and humor, Katherine is committed to finding ways to support her clients.

History

Katherine started her career in Seattle, WA on a Mobile Crisis Team, responding to adults in mental health and/or substance use crises. She then worked in an inpatient psychiatric setting on a multi-disciplinary team. Katherine became skilled in group therapy while facilitating intensive day treatment groups for adults. This is where her passion for mindfulness, DBT, and CBT took root. In fall of 2019, Katherine moved back home to Minnesota and currently works in the Minneapolis area as a Clinical Supervisor for an assisted living facility specializing in mental health.

Katherine joined The Jonas Center in 2020.
